Led by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, the Buy BC program is dedicated to promoting high-quality food that is grown, raised, and processed locally in communities across the province. Through initiatives such as logo licensing, cost-shared funding, retail partnerships, and a robust marketing campaign, Buy BC aims to connect consumers with regional products while fostering support for farmers and local businesses.

Pixel Ramen collaborated with the Buy BC team to redesign their website, focusing on creating a user-centred experience that complies with government accessibility standards. This required a concise and intentional approach to information architecture to seamlessly communicate information to end users.
Pixel Ramen conducted 20 remote user interviews with two distinct target audience groups, gathering invaluable insights into their experiences navigating the Buy BC website. This user-centric approach empowered our team to define precise goals, address key design challenges, and foster a collaborative environment where user feedback played a pivotal role in shaping the project's direction.
By leveraging the data collected from the user interviews, we were able to identify key pain points and opportunities for improvement on the Buy BC website. This data-driven approach allowed our team to prioritize features and functionalities that directly addressed user needs and preferences. Additionally, the insights gained from the interviews informed the design of intuitive navigation paths and clear content presentation, ensuring that users could easily find and access the information they sought. The emphasis on leveraging user data not only enhanced the overall usability of the website but also strengthened the connection between consumers and local producers, ultimately supporting the mission of the Buy BC program.
